DULANEY GLEN Obituary

GLEN--Dulaney. Dulaney Glen, M.D., 91, of Pfafftown, NC, died August 4, 2025. Born January 3, 1934, in Louisville, KY, to Maxwell and Mary Sue Glen, he grew up in New York City and attended Trinity School, Phillips Exeter Academy ('51), and Yale University ('55). At 21, he married Wendy Walker of Syosset, NY, whom he had met at 16 while delivering ice to her family's cabin at Valley Ranch in Wyoming. They raised seven children. He was a U.S. Air Force officer and navigator on a B-52 and an aspiring investment banker at Kuhn, Loeb & Co. before earning a medical degree from Columbia University in 1967. After serving as Chief Resident at St. Luke's Hospital, he practiced internal medicine at North Shore Medical Group in Huntington, NY. In 1979, the family moved to a farm in Pfafftown, NC, where he raised cattle and practiced at RJR's Winston - Salem Health Care until retiring in 1995. He spent the past 30 years tending his herd and hundreds of plants, bushhogging his fields, firing off pithy emails to friends and family (and occasional zingers to policymakers and editorial boards), and delighting all with his stride piano. He amassed a repertoire of 2000+ jazz standards, show tunes, military cadences and school fight songs, all entirely by ear. He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Wendy; children Robert, Mark, Elizabeth (Lisa), Leonie, Melissa, Michael, and Julie; their spouses; 16 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hank Thorp '52 Memorial Music Fund at Phillips Exeter Academy.

You were a super member of the Class of 1951 at PEA, Del. As class scribe and class pianist, and as creator of our wonderful 50th reunion book, you led the way. And as our catcher, what an arm you had! RIP old friend. Ed
