EGBERT BEGEMANN Obituary
BEGEMANN--Egbert. The trustees of the Robert Lehman Foundation and the staff of the Robert Lehman Collection at the Metropolitan Museum of Art mourn the death of our friend and advisor Egbert Haverkamp-Begemann, John Langeloth Loeb Professor Emeritus in the History of Art at NYU's Institute of Fine Arts. For the best part of three decades, Egbert oversaw the preparation and publication of the scholarly catalogue of the Robert Lehman Collection from its early stages to the publication of the fifteenth, final volume in 2012. He did so with unsurpassed dedication, scholarship, collegiality and patience, for which we and all students of art history will forever be in his debt. We will miss him.
