D. Kern was the best ever! Always so funny and caring at the same time. I had no idea you left us. This is truly heart breaking. After he left the practice he retired from I never went back. No body on this earth can take Dr. Kern's place. He's just unmatched. I followed Dr. Kern from his private practice in Garden City then followed him to the group practice on Fulton Ave. 4 years later I'm still looking for an internist like Dr. Kern I will never find. Dr. Kern RIP you are truly missed.

Dr Kern was my Internist from about 2002 till his retirement a few years ago. He was always a very pleasant man to deal with, and always had time for little chat before I left about any topic that came up. He had a sense of humor: when he mused about another Dr wanting to "observe" my cancer for a year, he asked why would that that Dr do that. I said because it's not his cancer. He got a good laugh at that. I only learned of his passing last week visiting my urologist, an acquaintance of Dr Kern. My condolences to his wife and family. He is missed.
