Fritz was one of a kind. How will we do without him? Oyster Bay will not be the same.

I would like to thank Fritz for his committment to making the lives of so many children better. When one thinks of the hundreds and hundreds of children he and his wife Marge graciously hosted at their home for the past 21 years for Kips Bay Day...and their joy and giggles at being given the chance to try on experiences uncommon to their daily lives...wow...and that is just a sampling of how many lives his generosity touched. We, at The WaterFront Center, owe him a huge debt of gratitude for supporting us from our beginnings, and providing us with opportunity to help promote curiosity about the marine environment and help more kids smile big!

Those of us who got to know Fritz Coudert thru common philanthropic affiliations, like the organizations themselves, were profound beneficiaries of his numerous acts of bountiful kindness.
The opportunities he afforded me to share his time, and the
benefits of his wise counsel and good humour, were presents that none I receive later this month could ever match.
The world was a better place for his having been among us all, and the God who was having a good day when Fritz was born, was happy, without a doubt, to welcome him home to heaven.

Fritz Coudert was so many things to so many people, but to me he was most of all a dear friend. I "got" him and he "got" me. "Stop all the clocks, cutt off the telephones, . . . let the mourners come . . .," a truly great man is gone. Gaye Verdi
