I only found out recently about Dr. Freidman. I was his patient for almost twenty years. He saved my life in 1987. I wasn't able to get into St. Francis Hospital, & he somehow got me into No Shore hosp thru the back door. He was a great Doctor. I miss him.....

I just heard of Dr. Friedman,s passing. Im heartbroken and send my deepest condolences to his family, friends and staff. To say he was the greatest physician to ever care for me would be a monumental understatement. He was just brilliant. I will never forget his true concerns for me and everybody around him. I am well today because of him. I am educated in my illness because of him and I am forever grateful he had the time for me. I will never forget him and will forever miss him. May he be at peace. God bless Dr. Gary.

Thank you Dr. Friedman for caring so much to keep my father's health a priority. You met Frank in 1997 at Mercy Hospital where he had suffered congestive heart failure. You took care of him until 2015 of his passing. It will be a year this July and I remember going to visits with dad and all your conversations about his World War 11 experience. Your expertise kept him a loving member of our family. You were such a brilliant and talented man and I am proud that dad had you in his corner
My mother and I send your family and staff are deepest heartfelt condolences.

Like so many others, I found Dr. Gary to be the best doctor I ever came across. My condolences to his family, staff and patients. He took expert, compassionate care of my father, mother, me and my daughter. In 2002 I was a 39yo marathon runner who suddenly found himself with uncontrollably high blood pressure. By a miracle, Dr. Friedman had an opening the next morning at 8 am due to a cancellation. He took a profound, personal interest in my case, and made it his mission to stabilize me within days. Often I saw him at 8 am and then he would call me to go over the results of tests at 9 pm that night. Nevertheless he saw me every Friday for 3 months until he got to the root cause, and prescribed a medication that has changed my life, for good. When my 17yo daughter had a mild abnormality on an EKG, there was only one doctor he considered. He treated my daughter as though she were his own, and within days was able to give us an all-clear. Words can't describe how much comfort and peace he gave us. I wish the same for his family and friends now.

My wife and I were both blessed and fortunate to be under Dr. Friedman's care for many years. His brilliance, extensive medical knowledge, and dedication as a physician, combined with his caring and genuine benevolence as a human being towards all of his patients, is what made Dr. Friedman the special person and doctor he was to so many who had the privilege to know him.

Words cannot express our sorrow to hear about Gary's death. We send our thoughts and prayers to his family and want them to know how highly we regarded him. We came to him for my husband's heart issues but he immediately became involved to help him overcome his symptoms and issues from his Parkinson's Disease. His advice was critical in adding to my husband's quality of life. His midnight arrival at the ER to make sure my husband was ok was nothing short of amazing. He also successfully treated my rapid heart rate when no one else could figure it out. He took the time to show my son a life changing video when all he had to do was walk out of the office after the exam. Gary really cared. He thought outside the box. He was without question the best doctor I have ever seen. We were devastated when he told us about the cancer and watched with sorrow and dismay as his condition worsened. We will remember him always and thank him for everything he did for us. Nancy Isserlis and Maurice Miller

I was a patient of Dr Friedman for over 20 years and he had a keen interest in keeping me healthy. He treated his patients like he or she was the only patient ..always had time for your private life as well.
I know he truly loved his family and his medical career fulfilled his life as well...a true successf story in both.

My love and prayers go out to his dear family and to his staff who diligently managed his outstanding office.

My deepest condolences to Dr. Friedman's family. He was my mother's doctor for many years. I would accompany her to all appointments. As a nurse I was very critical of most doctors. The exception was the one and only, Dr. Gary Ross Friedman. He was a brilliant, compassionate, quirky, funny, and kind man. I was devastated when he so bravely shared his diagnosis with us and even more so now to learn of his passing. He would always tell me how I was doing a great job in caring for my mother. I truly believe that it was because of Dr. Friedman that my mother is alive today. He will hold a special place in my heart and the world was a better place because of him. Love and prayers to his family as they cope with this tremendous loss of an incredible man.

My wife and I just read of Dr. Friedman's passing today. We are so saddened to hear of this wonderful man's passing. My wife has known him for 40 some years, as a physician at Lydia E. Hall Hospital in Freeport. It was she who insisted I see Dr. Friedman when I first had heart problems. During the past 20+ years myself and family members have been his patient. We could not have received more caring, compassionate or knowledgeable care. We loved and revered him like a family member. I can picture him at this moment, with such a happy and outgoing personality. He has saved thousand of lives during his career, and he is at rest now, not suffering any pain. He is with God now, watching over us still...He shared his private life with us; so proud of his children and so in love with his wife. God bless his family and friends who will miss him greatly. Our sympathies also go out to his staff, both in Rockville Centre and Roslyn, who have professional, reliable and always kind to us.

Our heart felt condolences to Dr. Friedman's family. Dr. Friedman was one finest examples of a dedicated, brilliant, caring doctor. He cared for both of my parents over several years and saved my father's life on more than one occasion. He always went above and beyond the call of duty and I cannot express in words how much he meant to my parents and how much they loved and respected him. I thank Dr. Friedman for giving me the extra time with my dad, who passed three years ago tomorrow, and for my mom. There has never been a doctor like him and it is unlikely that there ever will be again. Rest in peace Dr. Friedman. On behalf of my parents, Martin and Geraldine Sokolsky

Our condolences to Dr Friedman's family as we are just hearing about the very sad news. He was a rare doctor who cared very deeply and sincerely for all his patients, never afraid to go wherever to find the answer. His approach always reminded me of this credo: ''Respect the elders, Embrace the new, Respect the impractical and improbable without bias". Godspeed Doc.

I just found out today of Dr. Friedman's death. I have such respect for him as a doctor. He shared his skills as well as his compassion with others in a way that not too many people do. He totally loved his family and I believe it was that love and his care for his patients that enabled him to continue on after his illness was diagnosed. Truly a hero in so many ways. Dr. Gary Ross Friedman was such a fantastic cardiologist and caring doctor. He will be sorely missed by our family. He saved my dad's life 2 years ago after my dad was diagnosed with congestive heart failure and was left to die in Florida. Were in not for Dr. Friedman, my dad would not be alive today. We are so very grateful and thankful for Dr. Friedman's dedication. I write on behalf of both my dad and mom, Ed and Ella Moosmann. Our family extends our deepest condolences and love to his wife, Valerie, his entire family and his dedicated staff.

There are never words enough to convey one's feelings when losing a special person in your life. I do feel Dr. Friedman was that special person, not just to me but to my late husband. He is greatly missed because he was that unusual doctor who looked at the whole person as he drew his conclusions. I never felt I was being rushed out. If more time was needed, he took it. His passing is the end of an era for me. My thoughts and prayers are with his staff, his wife, and especially with his children.

Dr Friedman was my husband's doctor. He came into our lives just at the right time, and diagnosed his critical condition when no one else could figure it out. Because my husband Ed was in a different hospital at first, Dr Friedman kept himself informed by allowing me to text him every day until finally we transferred him to St Francis. I'll never forget the first thing I saw when I got to my husband's new hospital room after admission: Dr Friedman IN the bed with my husband, arms around him, ear to his back to hear his heart. I will never forget his compassion, care, honesty & humor...During an office visit much later I thanked him again for saving Ed's life. He told me I was wrong, that together WE had saved his life. I've never heard a doctor speak like that. He was an extraordinary human being and I am forever grateful & extend my love & deep sympathy to his family at this saddest time. May God bless you always.

I want to express my deepest sympathy to the Friedman family. Dr Friedman saved my life five years ago when no one could determine what was wrong with me. During the three months I was hospitalized, including open-heart surgery, he never missed a visit, frequently telling me that he had just taken his family out to dinner & brought them home, before coming to see his patients at midnight! I cried when he told me of his diagnosis, as I am now while writing this. I consider him much more than a doctor: I think of him as a brother. I was grateful to be at the service today and I will never forget the fine man that he was.
