George Baker Obituary

BAKER-George F. III, 66. Of Houston, TX, formerly of New York City, on December 1, 2005. Eldest son of George F. Baker, Jr. and Frances Drexel Munn Baker. Beloved husband of Sarah. Devoted father of George and his wife Anne, and Joanna. Stepfather of John Roady and his wife Shawn and David Roady. Brother of Anthony Baker, Pauline Baker Pitt, Kane Baker and Lavinia Baker. A graduate of St. Paul's School, Harvard College and Harvard Business School. He began his career at Lehman Brothers, co-founded First Security Company and later Cambridge Capital and Baker Nye. He was an avid yachtsman and pilot. He served on numerous charitable boards, including New York-Presbyterian Hospital, St. Paul's School, the Wildlife Conservation Society and Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 13, at 11AM, at St. Bartholomew's Church, Park Avenue and 50th Street, NYC. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in his memory to The New York-Presbyterian Hospital.

George, May God Bless your family and hold them in the palm of his hand during this time. I know you are in Heaven now - too soon for the rest of us. God Bless you and Thank you for being the person you were! Your Good Works will go on forever! You had BURNING INTEGRITY as you once told my Dad he had. Thank you.
