GEORGE SHALLY Obituary

SHALLY--George (Shushie), died peacefully on June 25, 2013, surrounded by his loving family. A native New Yorker, he served in combat during WWII, attended UC Berkeley and graduated from NYU. In a long career with the forest products industry, George served as a Vice President of Crown Zellerbach. Shush lived life to the fullest. A builder, gardener, king of logistics and master of all ceremonies, world traveler, sculptor, lover of ballet and classical music, feminist, mentor and business entrepreneur, he loved his friends and he loved his family, he loved to laugh and he made everyone laugh with him. He was happiest when celebrating with family and friends. Shush is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years, Connie, their children, Lise Elkind and her husband Tom, Jobie LaBelle and her husband Dan, Betsy Shally Jensen and her husband Mike, Peter Dunham and his wife Sharon, eight grandchildren: Jaime, Daniel, Jake, Julie, Sara, Greg, Lilia and Shaya; and great grandson Kleine Ronnie.
