HELENE SPRING

SPRING--Helene. The East End Temple community deeply mourns the loss of our devoted leader. 75 years ago, Helene and her husband, Leonard, helped establish what was then an emerging synagogue. She served as president for a total of 18 years and continued advising her successors and serving on the Board of Trustees until her passing at nearly 100 years of age. Helene helped shape every aspect of community life, including the design of our community's Manhattan home on 17th Street, its sanctuary, the library named in her honor, Sisterhood, and joyful congregational programs. She will remain an enduring inspiration to the countless people she knew, befriended, and mentored. We extend our sincere condolences to Helene's family, friends, and neighbors.
