I WAS MR. JAHN'S EXECUTIVE ASSISTANT THIRTY FIVE YEARS AGO. I WORKED FOR HIM FOR TEN YEARS. HE WAS A REMARKABLE MAN FOR HIS TALENT.

I was extremely lucky early in my career to work on helmut's barn in St. Charles in 2004. I sanded and finished the floors at the barn/school while working for Carlson's flooring in Geneva il. I left Birger Juell Ltd to work for Carlson's only because I would have a chance to work for the great architect Helmut Jahn. This experience catapulted me to a much higher level in my career as well as my mind. I like to think that i was on his team and hold my standards to the highest possible for me. I was very fortunate to have spent time with him and his son and drinking the best german beer. We had a very nice conversation and he sent my boss a fax from Germany saying Mike McDermott was doing a terrific job. I wish to this day i got a copy of it. I think about him alot and still brag about working for him to everyone. Im saddened to hear of his passing and wanted to be able to work with him again. He's a true trailblazer and a legend, a superstar in the industry and wll be missed by so many people around the world. Thank you Helmut Jahn!

Hi how are you I am good u I was writing to you to give my condolences to you and your family etc.. RIP. I loved his art etc. He seemed like a nice person. I will.miss him so. Take care bye.
