JACKIE BEZOS

BEZOS--Jackie. The Trustees and community of the American Museum of Natural History are deeply saddened by the passing of Jackie Bezos, former Co-Chair of our Board, treasured friend, and transformative benefactor. With a great passion for education and expertise in the science of learning, she had a deep commitment to expanding access to educational opportunities and an unwavering belief in the potential of all children to learn. As Chair of our Education Policy Committee, she was a brilliant and inspiring thought partner as we developed programs to improve science teaching, learning, and engagement. Together with her beloved husband Mike, she provided leadership support for a wide range of our education work, including the Science Research Mentoring Program, the Master of Arts in Teaching Earth Science program, and the Learning Labs in the new Gilder Center. The impact of her contributions, along with her deep kindness and infectious optimism, will remain a part of the Museum and will touch those we serve for many years to come.
