JERALD FESSENDEN Obituary

FESSENDEN--Jerald D. The Frick Collection mourns the loss of its dear friend Jerald D. Fessenden. An avid art lover, he generously supported many initiatives at the museum and library, including the major renovation of the Frick's historic buildings and last year's special installation Bellini and Giorgione in the House of Taddeo Contarini. Jerald was a noted collector and a partner at Manhattan's Coe Kerr Gallery, kindly donating photographs and records from its archives to the Frick Art Research Library in 1994. We extend our sincere condolences to all those who knew and loved him. Elizabeth M. Eveillard Chair, Board of Trustees Ian Wardropper Anna-Maria and Stephen Kellen Director

Jerry gave us piggy back rides down Oak Avenue, over his shoulders, hanging by our ankles. `A real Lunenburg Massachusetts thrill ride. Rest in peace Jerry.

Jerry was my best friend growing up in Lunenburg, Mass. He was the one who brought me and other guys to mingle with certain girls who hailed from Leominster one of whom turned out to be my wife of now 60 years. I last talked to him about 5 years ago. Had plans to visit him on a visit to NYC but never followed through which I now terribly regret. Rest in Peace, Jerry. Mike Brockelman

I worked with Mr. Fessenden as he was a donor to All Souls church in his neighborhood. He was a generous donor, and a gentleman of a bygone era. He will be missed.
