JEROME GOTKIN

GOTKIN--Jerome "Jerry", who died peacefully on October 16, 2021, was a graduate of Columbia Law School, where he was a Harlan Fiske Stone Scholar and a James Kent Scholar. A brilliant litigator with a broadcaster's stentorian voice, he began his legal career as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell and ended his career as a senior member at Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo. Jerry lived in Boston and New York. He was married to the late Sondra Dolin, with whom he had two beloved children. He is survived by son Michael Gotkin, daughter Karen Gotkin, and her husband Glenn Zaborski. He spent the last 20 years of his life with his companion, Ann Kern, whose family "adopted" him. He, in turn, "adopted" Ann's family, including her two late brothers Martin Powers and Robert Powers, two sons, Jonathan Kern and Peter Kern and their wives Beth and Kirsten, as well as five grandchildren, Sara, Max, Ben, Adam, Milo - all of whom gave him "untold joy" through all those years. Jerry was a lover of art, Shakespeare, travel, history, and politics, and committed to racial and social justice. He enthusiastically motivated his children, his friends, and his "adopted" family to join him in these interests.
