John was the brother of one of my dearest lifetime friends, Jem Freyaldenhoven. When Jem fell ill while teaching in Michigan for the summer. I had a terrible feeling he would die there, so I took an airplane to be with him and John was my contact with their family and his sister could come their. John supported and us all. Bless John and Joe who has been the best last dance anyone could hope for. Susan Bradford

When I was young I had the good fortune to meet John and Joe. They became lifelong friends and made me a fan of their beloved city. When I was old, John inspired me to face my own illness with courage and grace. With character and commitment as a measure I still fall short compared to Joe, but I am definitely a better man for having known you. Godspeed, dear friend.

He will be sorely missed.

John will be missed, be comforted knowing he is resting peacefully ,wait on God to make all things new, doing away with death and pain shortly.
