I was John's neighbor, now still living 2 floors above his old apartment in NYC. John is still missed, neighbors still remembering him, his kind spirit, and his Bolo on his shoulder. We are smissed. Rest in peace.

Rest in Peace, John. I didn't know you well, but - as many others at our church - I was saddened to hear of your passing. You were a lovely man.

I met John in 1995 during my first trip to New York. He was a wonderful, caring, loyal, generous, adorable man who devoted his life to others. The world is a worst place without him. Rest in peace, dear John, I will never forget your smile and our endless laughings. I love you.

I have never met John in real life. We have been talking online for over a year and he had been an incredible source of support and inspiration in very difficult and turbulent times. I was always amazed by his wit, and his infectious humor that always made me smile. He was a beautiful man that just brought sunshine everywhere he went. I pray that he rests in peace and that he gets back some of the love that he shared so generously with others. Even he has never meet them.

I was shocked to hear of John's passing; I was hoping to visit with him in July in NYC with my partner; We were great friends as Pony Clubbers in the 70's; good fun, got in trouble together, loved each other, came out together in difficult times; his wonderful ability to love people and life, along with his smart business sense and love of the arts made him a survivor, and a success, in difficult times; I lost touch with him through the years but never forgot him...I am going to visit his resting place to thank him for being a part of my life that I will never forget, to say thankyou and I love you...
