Dear Mrs. Lyons and Family,

As you know, Lee and I just learned of Mr. Lyons passing yesterday and are so sorry our condolendences are only reaching you now. Lee and I lived next door to Mr. & Mrs. Lyons for 3 years in Greenwich and it was always a pleasure to see him out and about. We fully expected that his spirit would carry him past 100 years but unfortunately his body could not. There is no doubt in our minds that his spirit will go on forever as he was that special, rare kind of person that you feel lucky to have had the chance to meet.

Sincerely,
Stephanie & Lee Moore

Dear Mrs. Lyons & Lyons Family,

On Saturday, I learned of John's death form mutual friends at the Re-Al Club. He was always there, always took a lot of interest in me and, over the last 23 years, always made me feel welcome. Even though I have not met you all yet, I want you to know how saddened I am to receive this news and how much he will be missed. In recent years, I got to hear a little more about his World War II experiences on the Battleship, USS Maryland. He was quite a guy. In my humanity, I will miss his wonderful smile, warm friendship and constant support, but in my faith, I know I will see him again. So, I have not said, "Good-bye" to John, only "I'll see you later."

Sincerely,

Ron and Irene Hogan DeCamp
