I had the pleasured of working with John for over a year at the front desk of the Opryland Hotel. He was wonderful man who spoke of NY and his love for his family. I won't forget his laugh! He was always very kind and wonderful person. John came across to me like a person who had a wonderful and amazing life, which you could learn so much from and never get tired of hearing his stories and adventures. I was blessed to know him that short period of time. My condolences to his family.

I am thankful that I was blessed to have been able to call John a friend. I met John while I was working at the hotel and I adored him. I am going to miss John so much. I remember when I was down he always had a way to lift my spirits. John was definitely someone who grew on you. The more that you talked to him the more that liked him and truly appreciated the gift of his friendship. You could talk to him about something very personal and you knew that it was safe with him and he usually would be able to offer you some wonderful advice or help you to see things in a new light. There is a difference between wisdom and knowledge, John was one of those rare jewels who possessed both. ( as I sit here typing this on my computer I slightly laugh to myself , thinking of John telling me about the design of the keyboard, the layout being such as to slow down how fast people would type on the typewriters ) Speaking of laughter I am going to miss his wonderful laugh. I had so much fun on our tour of Nashville that John, Kim, Laurie and I took. We had such a wonderful time and we even took time to have a picnic. What else can I say about John, probably a lot more, there are so many cherished memories that I will keep to myself , in my heart. I hope that all that knew John would hold onto their own cherished memories, keep them somewhere warm and safe, use them as your happy thoughts when you are feeling down. John lived a very full life and he was take from all of us too soon. There were more souls out there he could have touched. Let a little piece of john live inside of you so that he can still touch those souls. My prayers going out to all of his family and friends . Thank you for all of the wonderful pictures that you posted.
I will miss my friend and I hope we will meet again someday.

I was a classmate of John's at Christ the King for eight years. It's always so sad to hear about the passing of one of our classmates. Please know that John and his family will be in my prayers.

I met John through outings to see two Loreena McKennitt concerts with his kind brother Kevin and wife Oreta in Tennessee. He is a good soul. It was so nice to be able to have seen his history in photos at http://www.omaralabor.com/family/jom-pictures/
I can see that God blessed him with a beautiful family.

John was one of my biggest “cheerleaders”. There was nothing I could not accomplish in his eyes. I will miss sharing my dreams and aspirations with him, his encouraging words, wisdom, and most of all seeing him on Sundays. He would always bring me the New York Times fashion spread because he knew how much I loved reading it.

Last time he had long hair, before he moved to Nashville.

John holds a special place in my heart. I will always remember the days we spent working together. I will never forget the day we spent with Jerykah and Laurie doing a tour of Nashville. I got to see places that day that I just had never made it to. He always had a kind word for everyone he came in contact with. I will miss him greatly.
