JONATHAN COHEN

COHEN--Jonathan Little. The Wildlife Conservation Society Board of Trustees and staff deeply mourn the passing of a great friend and supporter of WCS, including the Bronx Zoo, and our work across the world. Jon began supporting WCS in 1981 and served as a WCS Advisor 1997-2000; as a Trustee from 2000 to 2015; and continued his involvement as a Trustee Emeritus for the past decade. Jon's strategic guidance on budget, human resources, and development matters was invaluable, as was his extraordinary generosity, including endowing the position of the Jonathan Little Cohen Director of the Bronx Zoo. Jon's love for, and connection to, the Bronx Zoo was unparalleled. His support helped ensure it maintained its ranking as one of the world's premier zoological parks, inspiring millions to connect with nature and advance our mission to save wildlife. Whether bringing his Goldman Sachs colleagues to the zoo to champion our work or simply enjoying a visit with his family and friends, Jon's enthusiasm for the park and genuine love for its animals endeared him to the staff. He introduced hundreds to our mission and played an active role in fundraising for Tiger Mountain at the Bronx Zoo and for the reopening of the New York Aquarium following Hurricane Sandy. We extend our deepest condolences to Jon's wife, Allison Morrow; his son, Gregory David Cohen; his daughter, Suzanne Elizabeth Cohen; and their families.
