Dr. Barash was my eye doctor for over 30 years. He was a gifted, caring doctor. I was sad when he finally retired. I am even sadder now, having just learned that he passed. RIP, Dr. Barash. You will be remembered by all those fortunate enough to have known you.

I'm so sorry to read about this. He was such a great doctor. Super funny guy that also had such insight into the quirky creative mind-and understood how important our eyesight is to our work. I remember loving his bright socks and that he would laugh every time I brought them up. He will be missed.

I was a patient of Dr. Barasch from 1984. I just saw the sad news about my favorite Dr. He did bilateral surgery on my corneas. If it weren't him, I wouldn't have had a 20 year career as a New York City police officer. I'll miss his humor and his professionalism. RIP doctor and God bless his family.

I was a patient of Dr Barasch since I was 10 years old. He was one of the doctors that gave me the most valuable gift, the gift of sight as I had been legally blind since I was born that many many years ago I'm now in my 60s. He was part of an amazing team of doctors. I was a patient until he retired and only learned of his death today. It is amazing how many lives can be changed in such a positive way by just one person. When I went to his office he always had pictures of his family and always told me stories of everyone. I'm very sorry for your loss he was a really great man. My condolences even though they are late.

I learned months after the fact of Kenny's passing and am still filled with sadness. My heart goes out to his wife Lynne and daughters who he cared for above all else. Memories of him begin with my early days in NYC when he mentored me in my work in ophthalmology at Flower and Fifth Ave Hospitals. Kenny was a great and inspiring teacher to us all. But more than that, I have to thank him for my still being here as he spotted a subtle medical crisis overtaking me one day as we walked through the hospital and immediately rushed me to the Emergency Room where he gave me an injection that saved my life! Years passed and Kenny became my neighbor in South Salem and later, back in the city, my ophthalmologist. I will miss reminiscing about our exciting Flower days, his wonderful sense of humor, his colorful sock competition with Dr. John L. E. Wolff and his excellent medical care.

Kenny was a dear friend during my college years and a wonderful golf partner. He was a better golfer than I was, but we always had fun together. I learned a lot from Kenny- especially how to enjoy a good laugh.
I'm deeply grieved to hear of his passing.

Robert and I were so sad to read that Kenny has passed away. My memories of him go back to when I was a teenager and I remember when Kenny and Lynne got married because my Aunt and Uncle were Julie and Minna's best friends for years. We spent so many wonderful times together at the beach. Kenny was a funny, smart, and interesting man. He was a caring doctor at a time when our son had a serious vision issue. I remember Cassie and Dina as babies at the beach and how proud he was of them. Of course he adored Wendy and spoke so proudly of her. We send our heartfelt condolensces to all the Barasch family. He filled your lives with love and joy and was a really special person.
Sending love,
Susan Katz

I am saddened by the passing of Dr. Barasch. He was my eye doctor since the 1980s. I have not seen another eye doctor since my last appointment in early 2020. No one compares.

I am saddened to learn of Dr. Ken's death. He was a great raconteur and ran a great book group at One West 54th Street for several years. Ken picked some great books about the history of science, among other things. My condolences to his family at this sad time.
