LEON CHARNEY Obituary
The faculty, fellows, and staff of the Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology of NYU Langone Medical Center mourn the loss of our friend, benefactor and namesake. Self-described as "eclectic, multifarious, spiritual, curious and charitable," Mr. Charney's generosity helped transform our Division of Cardiology into a world-class provider of cardiovascular care, and a leader in research and education. We extend our deepest condolences to his wife Tzili, his sons Mickey and Nati, and to the entire Charney family. Glenn I. Fishman, Director, Leon H. Charney Division of Cardiology, Larry A. Aso surviving Mr. Charney are his cousins, Mrs. Carol Pinski, (Beitar, Illit) , Mrs. Penina Metal (Penny), Brooklyn, NY and Mrs. Civi Markinson, (Passaic, NJ),daughters of his beloved late aunt, Mrs.Rose Tunis, obm.
His connection and devotion to family cannot be encapsulated into words. He. our beloved "Leiby" will live in our hearts forever!
