My wife, Marie, and I have the fondest memories of riding with Marti on a cycling tour. We became known by other riders as the Three Horsemen, always doing the longest route option, through rain and wind, with Alice offering support and ample entertainment along the way. We´ll never forget our week in Vermont with Marti and Alice.

I met Marty in 1947, when he, his brother and parents arrived in Claremont, NH, survivors of the Holocaust. I was 8, he was 11. The boys lived with my grandparents for a year while their parents got settled in New York. His father Chaim was my grandmother's cousin, both originally from a village in Poland named Dereczyn. We never lost touch, from then until late February, when we last spoke and he told me the bad medical news. I miss him terribly.

Marty was the sweetest man and so devoted to his wife and his family. A kind soul who always quietly looked out for everyone in the office. He will be missed.

I had the privilege of working with Marty at GR&F for many years, and it was always a nice surprise when he popped into the White Plains office - always came to my office first with a hug & kiss hello. We still talk about him leading the conga line at my wedding! And my husband, Derek and son, Ian fondly remember Marty from WCC rides. Our love & prayers are with you at this difficult time.
