MARTIN LUBIN Obituary

LUBIN--Martin I., M.D. on March 17, age, 81. Retired chief of psychiatry at New York Hospital-Queens. Survived by his wife of 44 years, Jane; children Julie and Robert, daughter-in-law, Jennifer; brother Norman (Phyllis) and four grandchildren. Dr. Lubin began his career in forensic psychiatry on the Bellevue Prison Service. His book, "Good Guys, Bad Guys, From Bellevue to Berkowitz" recounted his experiences there and as an expert in many high profile criminal cases. He founded the Department of Psychiatry at Booth Memorial Hospital (NYHQ) in 1971 and ran the Department until its demise in 2000. Friends and colleagues will remember his outstanding devotion to ethical practices in medicine and psychiatry and in living his life. Donations to a charity of the donor's choice would be greatly appreciated.

Jane,
we were so saddened to read of Marty's death and were looking for a way to contact you and let you know of our thoughts for you and your family. We think of you both often and are only very sorry to be in Tucson at this time, so that we are unable to do this in person.
We are still living in Tucson, managing pretty well, considering some issues in life...as who doesn't have them at some point?
I was unable to find an address for you in NYC, so this was at least a way for us to let you know how sad we both are to know about this very difficult a time
this is for you.
Thinking of you.

We are living at: 1590 E Entrada Sexta,
Tucson, AZ 85718
(520) 615-5332

Please be in touch.

Fondly,
Bertha & Mitch
