MATTHEW MILLER Obituary

MILLER--Matthew Jeffrey. Matthew Jeffrey Miller of Ossining, NY died on May 27, 2025 at age 84. Born on December 26, 1940, Matt was the first child of Bertram Richard Miller and Dorothy Shensa Miller and raised in Maplewood, New Jersey with his siblings, Craig (Nancy) Miller and Carolyn (Steven) Cony. As a young man, he was active in his synagogue and also earned the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Princeton University and earned a master's degree in Philosophy from Tufts University. He married his beloved wife, Dr. Marjorie Cantor Miller, in 1962. Together they raised two daughters, Lisa (Patrick) Hotung and Cathryn (Laval) Miller-Wilson, as well as a foster son, Paul (Momi) DeHaven in Huntington, New York. He was adored by his grandchildren, Sarah (Brian), Becky (Sam) and Lauren Hotung; Elijah and Benjamin Miller-Wilson; as well as many nieces and nephews. Matt was an artist, a voracious reader, a home carpenter, a businessman, and an Information Technology officer. He was a lover of all creatures, but especially his dog, Didi. He was adventurous, generous, compassionate; laconic but wickedly funny. He was a role model for his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband and father who loved deeply and cared about his family above all else. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers, donations in his honor may be made to HIAS Pennsylvania at www.hiaspa.org
