MAURICE L. RICHTER

RICHTER--Maurice L., 82, on June 26, 2012. He is survived by his wife Eva, sons Chris and Jon, daughters-in-law Jenny and Julianna, and three grandchildren, Noah, Allie and Shayni. Maurice loved classical music, astronomy, mathematics, art, good Szechuan food, and model trains. He was a witty and prolific poet, writing for family and friends to commemorate birthdays, anniversaries, and diplomas earned. He saw the world with wonder and awe, marveling at the stars - their beauty and supreme logic. Summers spent in Boothbay Harbor, ME, in Woodstock and Phoenicia, NY, surrounded by family and friends, were among his happiest times. Maurice was one of the early pioneers of the move from Manhattan to Park Slope, Brooklyn, where the family lived for forty-one years. He attended the Bronx High School of Science and New York University-BS., MS., PhD. - and taught Mathematics at the College of Staten Island, CUNY, for forty years. Upon retirement he traveled, immersed himself in his extensive collection of art books, listened to music, and wrote classical music reviews for the online publication LaFolia. We will miss him very much.
