Max Pfeifer was a good friend, mentor, and a distinguished leader of the legal profession, having served as president of the New York State Bar Association and his beloved Bronx County Bar Association. He loved being a lawyer and had a personality that was larger than life. Dining with him on Arthur Avenue in the Bronx with a small group of bar leaders is a special memory. He will be missed.

Max was a dear friend, a distinguished leader of the bar, and a major mentor to me in my own professional and Bar Association activities. I was not aware of his passing. I will miss him.
