MICHAEL MATHEWS Obituary

MATHEWS--Michael Stone, Michael Mathews, of Princeton, NJ, died peacefully on May 17. He was known for his quick wit, charming toasts and adventurous spirit. An avid gardener and voracious reader, he also scuba dived on the Great Barrier Reef, climbed in the French Alps, followed Genghis Kahn's footsteps on the Silk Road and sailed up the Irrawaddy. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Cecilia, their three children, Brandon (Kristina), Mark (Vickie) and Alex and five grandchildren. A memorial service is planned for September 12, at the Princeton University Chapel at 1:30pm.

So sorry to receive this news. Fondly I remember chatting regularly with Mike in the gym at The University Club, a daily ritual for both of us in the 1990´s and early 00´s. What an interesting and full life. Am grateful to have known him. And I'll remember him as I too frequently paddle on a lake in the Adirondacks.
