I was Miner´s classmate at Allen-Stevenson and Lawrenceville. i remember him as a serious and purposeful student. Little did I suspect how important his contributions to so many varied causes would be. We were both in the Knickerbocker Greys, ad many years later I was informed of Miner´s progress by his brother Brad. May he now walk through Heaven in his ripple soled shoes.

I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of Miner. He and I started Shearman & Sterling on the same day in 1968 and shared an office together for some time before we were allowed to have our own. After Miner left the firm, we had lunch together regularly for many, many years. At those lunches, we shared many laughs, many mutual friends, and many experiences. He was a wonderful example of being interested in everything, (including the person he was speaking to- a rare thing in these days of self-interest!) and exploring everything of intellectual interest. His range of interest was truly global. I admired him, laughed with him, and considered him a good friend. I will miss him terribly, and my heart goes out to Ellen and their family. HenryB

Miner had a remarkable breadth of contacts and experience. We worked with him on a claim brought by farmers dispossessed by a brutal regime. Against all odds, we obtained a settlement that enabled the farmers to restart their lives. May he rest in peace.

Miner and I worked together at Salomon Brothers in the 1970s and early 80s. He later suggested I join the Pilgrims - whose events I have enjoyed for many years. Rest in peace - after a life well lived. David Meachin

I grew up in Oyster Bay, Long Island, and knew Miner and his brother Brad very well as a child. It is wonderful to read about Miner's many accomplishments. He certainly lived a very full life and helped many people along the way. I send my condolences to his family.

I met Miner Warner through The Brook Club of which I am a UK based member since 1992. We had a shared interest in Africa and discussed our experiences at length and with humour. I found Miner to be a most charming , understated and civilised gentleman whom it was a privilege and a pleasure to have known. Respectfully Algy Cluff

To Miner Warner Family
I first met Miner Warner in Islamabad in 1988 as he was coming out of the offices of the Ministry of Finance and Michael DiGiacomo (a mutual friend and my colleague then) and I were going in to see the ministry. Miner was with Merrill Lynch and Michael and I with Kidder Peabody. Merrill Lynch won the deal.
About three years ago, Miner and I reconnected when he called me to suggest that we team up to advise sovereign governments on debt restructurings, especially in Africa. So we pursued mandates from a number of countries and the African Development Bank. While we did not have success, we had a lot of fun and many very interesting exchanges and client presentations. I enjoyed our professional dialogue over those three years.
Miner was a consummate banker with broad and deep experience in sovereign debt restructurings. He was respected for this worldwide.
If was a pleasure and an honor to work with him, and I learned much from him, including persistence in pursuing transactions and aiming at impeccable accuracy in written communications with clients.
May the family have the strength to bear the loss and may he rest in peace.
