NICHOLAS MASTROIANNI Obituary

MASTROIANNI--Nicholas Alfredo Sr., age 89, of Huntington, NY, was born March 28, 1933, in Huntington, NY to the late Joseph and Emily Mastroianni and went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 4, 2022, at 2:52pm. Nicholas was a very prominent figure in Long Island, operating many fine restaurants, beginning with Burt Bacharach's Dover House in Westbury, NY, Rothmans in East Norwich, NY and most recently Glynn's Inn in Huntington, NY. After his restaurateur career, he was notable for home building across Long Island and spearheading significant mergers and acquisitions. For decades he was an accomplished pilot and world class chef who gained great joy having his family and loved ones around the dinner table and close to him every chance he had. Anyone who was fortunate enough to have known him knew he was larger than life and brought immense joy to every room he entered and every life he touched. He resided in Huntington, New York for the majority of his life, while spending winters in Palm Beach Gardens, FL with his family. He attended Huntington High School and he served our country honorably in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his wife, Audrey Beverly Mastroianni, brothers James and Ronald Mastroianni. He is survived by his sister Janice Mastroianni Shea, two sons Nicholas Alfredo Mastroianni II of Palm Beach Gardens, FL and John Joseph Mastroianni of Huntington, NY, and his one daughter, Audrey Stephanie Mastroianni of Huntington, NY; six grandchildren Nicholas Alfredo Mastroianni III, Anthony Jon Mastroianni, Marcello James Mastroianni, Dominick Destefano, Audrey Marie Mastroianni and Evelyn Audrey-Victoria Mastroianni; and six great-grandchildren, Giabella Mastroianni, Giuliana Mastroianni, Gemma Mastroianni, Nicholas Alfredo Mastroianni IV, Anthony Jon Mastroianni II and Emily Mastroianni; devoted nephews, Ronald Mastroianni and Joseph Mastroianni, and nieces and friends. We give thanks to God for sharing him with us and for his love, his life and his sweet spirit. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great-grandfather and brother who will be very deeply missed. Visitation will be held on November 8, 2022 from 2pm-4pm and 7pm-9pm at M.A. Connell Funeral Home in Huntington Station, NY. Mass will be held on November 9, at 9:45am at St. Patrick's Church in Huntington, NY, followed by burial services at St. Charles Cemetery where he will be laid to rest next to his wife Audrey Mastroianni.
