Orville and I were in Special Services together in Korea, 1965. He was a good friend and lots of fun to hang around the golf course with. We all asked him why he hadn't gone pro. Well he did later and in a big way as we all know. I think he was too patriotic to leave the military. I still tell my friends about him and miss him a lot. Larry Lietzau

I am also Orville Moody, but Orville Stanley Moody. My facebook page is Orville Stan Moody. I have passed Orville many times and have always have people thought I was him. I evan lived in Kelleen,Texas and saw his house across from the Airport which I flew out of. I was in the Army at Fort Hood and had Golfers call me on the phone and just knew I was Orville. I had always told them I was Orville but not the one they were looking for. I started to try and meet him but he was going through a divorce at that time and I knew what that was because I done the same thing. I am sorry I didn't meet him I know it would be a pleasure. My picture is on my family page which you can find on the web. I have since found my Great Grandfather but I haven't updated my page yet. I am very sorry for your loss of him, I know he was a great man. Orville

Sincerest condolences to Orville's family. I only knew him briefly while at Capitol Hill High School, but I followed his golfing career with interest.

UNCLE ORVILLE WAS A BIG PART OF MY LIFE WHEN I WAS GROWING UP, BUT I AM AT PEACE KNOWING THAT HE AND MY DAD (LLOYD) ARE NOW PLAYING GOLF ON THAT COURSE IN HEAVEN (WITH UNCLE DALE TELLING THEM WHAT THEY ARE DOING WRONG). HE WILL BE MISSED GREATLY HERE ON EARTH. ALL MY LOVE.

You were my guardian angel...if you had lived to be 90 it still wouldn't have been enough time with you. You gave so much to me, taught me so much and let me walk beside you while you competed against the best golfers in the world.I can't imagine my life without you in it.I will never get used to you being gone...

I followed Orville throughout his golfing career..
He was good and may he find the perfect course in heaven and "keep the wind at his back and the ball in the fairway"

My thoughts and prayers go out to Orville's kids and other family members. I visited my Uncle in Allen, Texas not long ago with my sisters and brother. He just kept smiling and pointing to all of us. I was glad we went when we did. My sympathy to all of you.

I deeply regret hearing the news of the passing of Orville. My thoughts and prayers go out to all of the Moody family in this time of grief and in the days to come. I spoke with Betty and I am sending the news article from the paper in Killeen, Texas. His passing leaves us remembering the good days in the sun. Now he and Lloyd can play golf together again. He was so kind to me when I joined the PGA. I'll always smile when I remember Orville.
