PHYLLIS HAMMOND Obituary

BAKER HAMMOND-- Phyllis. Phyllis Baker Hammond, sculptor, artist and educator, died on Wednesday, October 23, 2024 in Los Angeles, CA, surrounded by her loved ones. She was 94. Her many achievements include a sculpture prize in Japan's Ube Tokiwa Museum International Biennale sculpture competition, public art installation in Dag Hammarskjold Plaza and designing "The Will Award" for Classical Theater. She is survived by husband Dr. Aldo Perotto, daughter Sharon, son-in-law Harley Weller and daughter Lynn Penny and nephew John Moriarty, stepson Oscar and wife Sylvia Perotto, stepdaughter Claudia Mason, grandchildren Martin, Laura, Gina, Eric, Kristi and great grandchildren Kaitlyn, Koraleigh, Eric, Rece, Davis, and Dylan. The family will hold private services in Los Angeles at the Getty Center in Los Angeles, CA and Cape Cod, MA. Donations may be made to Ashawagh Hall in East Hampton. A public celebration of life will be held in East Hampton, Summer 2025.

Such a Big Life & A Big Heart for this wonderfully talented woman. She was my friend & a mentor living life as if age was no factor. I own her work & she owns mine. I learned so much & will deeply miss Phyllis
