REUBEN JEFFERY Obituary

JEFFERY--Reuben Jr., of Southport, CT beloved husband of the late Ann Thomas Jeffery, passed away peacefully in his home Saturday, May 5, 2012. Born January 31, 1923 in Syracuse, NY, the son of late Marie and Reuben Jeffery. He served in Japan with the U.S. Army 11th Airborne Division leaving the service at the end of the war as a Captain. Graduated from Yale, B.E. 1944 and Harvard Business School, M.B.A. 1949, with High Distinction and as a Baker Scholar. Thirty-five year career as an accounts manager, Polymer Products Department, E.I. DuPont de Nemours & Co. He is survived by his two children; Reuben Jeffery III of New York, NY and Martha Ann Jeffery of Bridgeport, CT; three grandchildren, Jocelyn Ann Jeffery, Reuben Jeffery IV and Robert Walker Jeffery; and his sister Jean Jeffery Greene of Syracuse, NY. He was predeceased by his brother, John Jeffery. A memorial service will be held Friday, May 18th 2012 at 11:00AM at Greenfield Hill Congregational Church, 1045 Old Academy Road, Fairfield, CT. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Greenfield Hill Congregational Church.

I met Mr. Jeffery last Fall and visited him with my dog "Chase" on a few occasions. Reuben was always happy to see us. I was happy to be in the presence of a very special, rare man. My sincere condolences to his family.
