Richard was a huge influence on me at Bernstein and I always appreciated his help with my career.

Abe was a year ahead of me in 19th Squadron at the Air Force Academy. His class was responsible for our military training, and Abe was one of the best in that capacity. Tough, but fair, he always had the right perspective on what was really important. It was my distinct pleasure to have served with him.

Richard exemplified hard work; dedication; generosity; selflessness; kindness; respect; humor; love of friends, family and thy neighbor; and he had an uncanny ability to help you truly get to know yourself. Best of all, he could make you laugh even at the most challenging of times (like at nine o'clock at night when you were rushing to get him on a plane to God-knows-where and that cantankerous copier choked on your last presentation book!!!) I worked with Richard at Bernstein from 1987 until 2012 and benefited repeatedly from his wisdom, energy, and great sense of humor. He was unfailingly kind at all the right moments and I won't forget his delight when we were successful or his determination to do better when we weren't. I was very sad to learn he has passed and will miss him very much.

Whenever I visited NYC, Richard could not do enough to assist me. A wise and very generous man. Greatly missed.

I was a young swimmer in the late fifties and remenber Richard and his father, Jack, they were generous, competive and had good humor. His dad would give me a ride home from swim meets so I did not have to take the subway. I was proud to read of his many achievments in life and deepley sadened to learn of his untimley passing. May he rest in peace.
