RICHARD LAVENSTEIN Obituary

LAVENSTEIN-- Richard Simon, of New York City and East Hampton, NY, passed away on Friday, October 25, 2024, at the age of 73. A native of Baltimore, MD, he was the son of Arnold and Eleanor Lavenstein and is survived by his loving brother Dr. Bennett (Dr. Judith Gadol) Lavenstein, his niece and nephew Carol and Robert, and his partner Amy Libit. He was a graduate of The Park School, Washington University, and Washington University School of Architecture. Following graduate school he moved to New York City to practice architecture for the next 45 years. He was a principal at Bond Street Architecture & Design and co-founder of L+L Design Studio. Richard had wide ranging cultural interests and his life, both in the city and East Hampton, provided him the opportunity to pursue his passions for literature, classical music, and the arts. Services at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 180 West 76th St., New York, NY 10023, on Thursday, October 31, 2024 at 3pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent in his memory to Mount Sinai Parkinson's Disease and Movement Disorders:
