RICHARD MASLOW

MASLOW--Richard. Richard Maslow of Dallas, PA and Naples, FL died peacefully on March 20th at his home in Naples. Born on March 11, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY to Louis and Francis Alter Maslow, Dick graduated from Scarsdale High School and earned a B.A. in Economics from Cornell University in 1954 and an M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1963. He served two years in the U.S. Army from which he was honorably discharged in 1956 with the rank of First Lieutenant. During a forty-year career at InterMetro Industries in Wilkes-Barre, PA, which was founded by his father Louis Maslow, Dick served as President, CEO and Chairman of the Board until he sold the company in 1994. He was Director and President of the National Association of Food Equipment Manufacturers and Director of the National Institute for the Foodservice Industry and held memberships in the Young President's Organization, Chief Executives' Organization and World Business Council. Mr. Maslow was a significant collector of 20th Century post-war art. The Maslow Art Collection has loaned important pieces to museum and gallery exhibitions across the country and is used by Pennsylvania colleges for teaching and research, particularly at Marywood University in Scranton. A fine athlete and avid golfer, in his retirement Mr. Maslow founded and was president of Huntsville Golf Club, a Rees Jones designed course in Lehman, PA. He also established the Maslow Family Foundation which supports programs and organizations in Northeastern Pennsylvania. He is preceded in death by his wife of 61 years, Marilyn Moore Maslow and his son Douglas. He is survived by his sister Gyana Pendleton, five daughters, eight grandchildren and his companion Mimi Ostrander. Funeral services will be held in Naples at the con- venience of the family. A memorial celebration of his life will be held in Dallas at a later date.
