I knew Dick for many years, and enjoyed his company professionally and personally. One year we sat next to each other on a flight to the Cannes festival and he regaled me with stories about his career. Nice fella and will be missed.

Dear Roth Family members,
I just want to say how saddened I am to hear of the passing of you Dick. We worked together for many years in the Advertising business and we kept the relationship going when he had his very successful M&A company. He Brough a number of very smart acquisitions to me.

He and I were friends for 60 years. I can't say that about many people. We saw each other (with and without wives). We loved exchanging advertising stories. And he had a great laugh. Amye and i send our sincerest condolences.

Dick was smart, passionate and an intellect. So sharp. I afraid to say what he felt in business. I learned from him. He made advertising better.

Our hearts go out to Leslie and family for the loss of Dick - the very best of neighbors in Monterey on Lake Garfield. Since the time the Roth's joined our Elephant Rock community in the early 1970's we have shared with his family many unforgettable moments on the lake and on their porch. And will never forget my last conversation this last Spring with Dick - to be cherished forever as testimonial to his perpetual warmth and concern for others.

Dick and I met freshman year at Dartmouth. We became roommates for 4 years both at Dartmouth and The Tuck School and as a result, good friends for 66 years. In addition to his advertising accomplishments, Roth Associates became a leading consultancy advising large corporations seeking a change of advertising agencies. In addition, Dick consulted to agencies seeking re-organization or acquisitions. His reputation was one of total integrity, respected incites along with good humor. He was a wonderful friend who I will truly miss every day.

Dick and I were friends from the Mad Man days of the 1960s at Grey advertising. Our friendship endured until the day of his death. He was a caring, interesting, funny and good friend. I will miss our lunches, dinners, and almost weekly phone calls. He was a good part of my life.
