ROBERT HOROWITZ Obituary

HOROWITZ--Judge Robert. Judge Robert (Bob) Horowitz, 91 on August 3, 2022. Born in Brooklyn, November 6, 1930, first in his family to attend college and Law school both at NYU. Married for 63 years to his beloved Micki until her passing in 2019. He is survived by, Jane and Dwight Lowell, Jimmy Horowitz, Joi Horowitz, Nancy and Jeff Yates, his beloved grandchildren Chloe, Jordan, Phoebe, Justin and Michael and his loving companion Nancy Leavitt. His life was filled with friends and travel, the arts, intellectual pursuits, the Mets and Jets, every kind of hat, and causes from the ACLU to NAACP. After decades of private law practice, he became a NYS Magistrate and served on the bench until age 88. He provided legal counsel for the 9/11 victims fund, served often at his local soup kitchen, and helped found and nurture ICM synagogue in Manchester, VT. Generous, kind and caring, his was a life well lived. He was loved and admired by all who knew him. He is forever in our hearts.

Bob was bright, cheerful and loyal. I always enjoyed his company and benefited from his advice. All who knew him will surely miss him.
