ROY NEUBERGER Obituary

NEUBERGER--Roy Rothschild, 107, died peacefully at his home in New York City on December 24, 2010 of natural causes. He is survived by his daughter, Ann Neuberger Aceves and her partner James Sullivan, his sons, Roy Salant Neuberger and James Alfred Neuberger and their spouses Linda Villency Neuberger and Helen Stambler Neuberger, his grandchildren, Andrea London Zweigenbaum, Patricia London, Matthew London, Sarah Lancry, Yaffa Jungreis, Miriam Hess, Aharon Neuberger, and Nechama Slatus, all of their respective spouses, and thirty great-grandchildren. Roy was a truly remarkable person, beloved by many, who had an enormous impact both in the world of finance and art. His legacy will live on both through Neuberger Berman, the Neuberger Museum of Art, and the countless people whose lives he touched in so many ways. Funeral services will be held at Riverside Memorial Chapel, 76th St. and Amsterdam Avenue in New York City, on Sunday, December 26th at 1:15pm, with burial at Mount Neboh Cemetery in Queens. A Memorial Service will be held at a time to be announced. Shiva/Mourning will be observed at his home this Sunday, December 26th after 5pm and on Monday from 4 to 8pm, and will continue from Tuesday to Friday at the home of his son Roy Salant Neuberger.

Truly a remarkable man who had the foresight and due dilengence to build an empire to help others. It was because of him that I met my beautiful wife where we both worked in his firm in the late 1980's right out of college. It is because of him that I have a beautiful family today. May he Rest In Peace!
