Ruth Weinstein Obituary

WEINSTEIN--Ruth, at 98, on December 23. Devoted wife of the late Edward Weinstein, committed mother of Howard and Paulette, ardent mother-in-law of Joan and Stephen, loving grandmother of Laura, Linda, Michael and Daniel, and special greatgrandma to Sari, Emily and Edward (Teddy). A true force who outlived early adulthood, the Depression, several wars, three siblings and evolving parenting techniques. Funeral services to be held at Gutterman's Funeral Home in Rockville Centre, Long Island, at 11:30am on December 26. A fighter till the end, she lived as she wanted to always. May she dance with Edward again soon.

Ruth befriended me when I moved to North Shore Towers 3 years ago. We remained friends since then and had many interesting conversations. She was a remarkable woman, witty, knowledgable with fascinating stories that she shared with me. I am saddened by her death and want to express my condolences to the whole family.

My condolences to Howard, Lettie and their extended families. Ruth was an unforgettable person who left her mark on all who met her and insisted on living life "her way." I believe I was one of her "favorites," mostly because she felt that Howard needed someone to keep an eye on him.
