SANDRA SLEDZ Obituary

SLEDZ--Sandra. Sandra Sledz, 82, passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2024. She was born November 1, 1941 in Cleveland, Ohio, the only child of Dan and Mildred Sledz. After graduating from St. Alexis School of Nursing, she moved to NYC, where she made her home for more than sixty years. For a number of years she worked at NYU Hospital and later as a nurse and assistant to several world renowned plastic surgeons. When the AIDS epidemic hit the U.S., she dedicated years researching and supporting the patients. In her spare time, she collected food, pharmaceuticals, and clothes, sending them to her beloved Kenya, where she met her husband Peter Kantai. Sandra had a deep compassion for the sick and vulnerable, as well as for neglected animals. She spent most of her life caring for others and her generous spirit will forever remain in our hearts. "Blessed are the caregivers."
