She was one of the kindest teachers and neighbors in my life as a child.

David, Yitty, I am so sorry. I loved your mom. She was a sane being in my world of insanity and knew always how to handle me, first in early grade school, in my one season at Camp Galila, and then as a neighbor. She was a sweet lady, and it's strange. I was thinking about her just last week. May you be comforted among the mourners of Zion, and may the next year bring simchot, nachat and good health. I only went to YHC for a year and a half but Mrs. Hamm made such a huge impression on me and I never forgot her kindness. She took me under her wing, invited me for shabbos to her home, and always checked in with me to make sure I was OK. She was a true eishet chayil and has left a legacy in the thousands of children she educated. Baruch Dayan Ha'emet. May the mourners be comforted among the mourners of Zion and Jerusalem, and may they take comfort in knowing how special their mother/grandmother/great grandmother was to so many. May it be a year blessed with only simchas for all.
