STUART FINKELSTEIN Obituary
The partners, attorneys and staff of Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP mourn the passing of our partner and friend Stu Finkelstein. Stu was beloved by everyone who knew him. He was warm-hearted, good-humored and genuinely interested in others. Stu spent his entire career at Skadden, joining the firm after graduating from the University of Michigan Law School in 1985. His work advising corporate clients on the tax implications of mergers & acquisitions, spin-offs, debt and equity offerings, restructurings and joint ventures earned him a reputation as one of the nation's top tax attorneys; as the co-leader of Skadden's global tax practice, Stu exemplified excellence in his client work and through his engagement with colleagues and clients. Stu also was devoted to not-for-profit and pro bono work, serving on the boards of a number of organizations and winning awards for his public service efforts. He is survived by his wife, Beth, and their children, Sam and Julia. Stu will be deeply missed by all of us.
