THOMAS MULLIGAN Sr.

MULLIGAN--Thomas Sr. Passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on January 5, 2012. He is predeceased by his wife Geraldine, who passed away in 2010 and his first wife Mary, who passed in 1971. Devoted father of Neil and Thomas Jr. Treasured by his granddaughters, Casey, Julia, Liv and Emma as well as many nephews and nieces. Thomas was a graduate of St. John's University and was the middle of three children from Olyphant, PA. He is survived by his loving sister Margaret Stone. He was predeceased by his brother Joseph. Thomas was a WWII Veteran in the Coast Guard and worked 43 years in the Financial Department of The New York Times. After retiring, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family and friends. He was aboard the Queen Mary II for its' maiden voyage, kissed the Blarney Stone in Ireland and went to Pasadena, California to watch his football Giants win Superbowl XXI. He lived life to the fullest. After losing his wife in 2010, Thomas moved into the home of his son Neil and daughter-in-law Sandra. The entire Mulligan family cannot express their appreciation enough to Sandra for all her expert care and compassion. Dr. Sandra spent her days caring for her patients in the hospital and her nights caring for her father-in-law. Visitation will be from 4-8pm, Wednesday, January 11 at John E. Day Funeral Home, 85 Riverside Ave., Red Bank, NJ. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be at 10am, Thursday January 12, at The Church of the Nativity, 180 Ridge Rd., Fair Haven, NJ.
