THOMAS UNTERBERG Obituary

UNTERBERG--Thomas Israel. The New York Community Trust mourns the loss of Tommy Unterberg. His passion for his work, philanthropy, and family were remarkable. His generosity was an inspiration to those who knew him. Our deepest sympathies go out to his wife Ann, his children and grandchildren and the extended family.

I am so saddened by Tommy´s passing. I remember the first IPO we did together I believe in 1968 with he as lead Underwriter and I as Company legal counsel. We served on Boards together and did 100s of financings of technology enterprises. We often shared thoughts as we built our respective firms. I loved and admired his quiet and thoughtful demeanor, his dry humor and his wonderful integrity. I will miss him. He was a special one of a kind.

Tommy was always thoughtful and insightful and I enjoyed the brief time I got to work for him. As a young analyst he really gave so many opportunities to see how things really happened. He loved the technology sector and shined in putting deals together and financing companies. Finally Tommy even reached out when not working directly together. I hope the world sees more men like him in the future.
