Last time I spoke to Tom was when he called to tell me he had sprinkled dog hair around my deck to discourage the itinerant bear he had spied from hibernating under my cabin. It was such a Tom thing to do. He was always looking out for us and all his neighbors. His solutions were quirky and full of folk wisdom he’d picked up here and there. From the day Roger and I met him on the road when we came up to begin clearing a site for our cabin, we knew he was unique, fascinating, and fun. We always valued his advice and his friendship. Allen Rd won’t be the same without him.

Friends since our teens Tom and I, from the Eastern Shore to the Caribbean to Madhattan '70s-'80s heydays & nights, so many adventures & scenes & hoots & jaunts....Your absence, Tom, creates quite the gaping hole in our lives, best filled I guess with a goad to emulate your warmth and kindness to human and animal alike, selfless generosity, happy humor, even sudden streetfighter skills as the occasion might demand.... We feel lucky and honored to have known you and your kin. I'll conclude with a heartfelt "BugaBOO!" [that funny TW catch-all expression]

This eulogy is beautiful and reminds me of the bright spark in Toms smile just before he laughed. He was a gentle and generous man and may he Rest In Peace.
