WILLIAM CRAVER Obituary

CRAVER--William ("Bill"), was born in Texarkana, Arkansas, August 23, 1931. He died November 8, 2018, in Austin, Texas. For 58 years, he worked on Broadway and Off-Broadway as a general and company manager, producer, and agent. He started his theatrical career working on Come Blow Your Horn, followed by The Odd Couple, Barefoot in The Park, Plaza Suite, and Little Foxes (revival). He's best known as the literary agent for the Broadway shows Rent, M. Butterfly, Proof, The Kentucky Cycle, and Passing Strange. In 2013, he received a Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre. A graduate of UT Austin (B.A., Drama and a Master's in Directing), Bill spent two years in the U. S. Army in California and Okinawa. He moved to New York City in 1956. Bill was a terrific storyteller and had a piercing wit. He is missed greatly by his family and friends. He was a true gentleman of the Theatre.
