Mary Sue (Lopez) Craig of Opelika, 74, devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother passed away on February 14th, 2022. Mary was born on April 23, 1947 in Fayetteville, West Virginia to Maria and Constantino Lopez. She moved at a young age to Tampa, Florida. It was in Tampa that she met the love of her life, United States Air Force Master Sergeant Karl M. Craig. Together they would share the next 49 years of their life living all over the world.
She is survived by her children Michael (Sheri) Craig of Deltona, Florida, Robert Craig and Susan (Terry) Rosenthal both of Opelika, Alabama. She is also survived by her grandchildren Taylor and Marissa Rosenthal, Sue Hayes, Teresa (Kristi) Ward, and Ashley (Kevin) Hartmann and her great grandchildren Tristan, Molly, Alyssa, Triston, JJ, and Alana. She was preceded in death by her loving husband Karl Craig and her daughter in law Sharon Craig.
A visitation will be held on Friday, February 25, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Jeffcoat-Trant Funeral Home in Opelika and a private burial on Saturday, February 26th.
