December 13, 1966 - April 23, 2025
Paula Belinda Heard passed away on April 23, 2025, in the home she shared with her beloved brother, Jonathan. She had long battled a heart condition. She was born at Lee County Hospital on December 13, 1966.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Arnell Johnson (2002) and Barbara Anne" Bob" Heard (2020) as well as her cherish only child, Chastity Lattrice (2022).
She is survived by her brother, Jonathan Heard (Opelika); brother, Christopher Hear; sister, Erika Heard Darroux, Priscilla Collins Heard; and neice and nephews, De'Marcus Heard (Kileen, Texas) Chrisropher Jaylen "CJ" Heard, Christina Heard, Gerald Collins and Austin Darroux (Opelika).
Paula was a 1985 graduate of Auburn High. She loved people and longed for travel. She spent most of her life in the Auburn- Opelika area with the exception of moving to Seattle Washington to be with her daughter in 2021.
Paula was an avid doll collector. Among her many other interesting collections, Paula had a penchant for "classics" in movies, cars and style. She is lovingly described by friends and family as a woman with a love for people and a kind heart. She was fascinated by her family ancestry, and learned that, in fact, her heritage spanned from Scandinavia, to the UK, to Africa. She was always discovering new connections and forging new relationships. All who knew her were blessed to become her "family", whether by blood or chosen.
A memorial for Paula will be held at a later date.
