Coy Coe Obituary

MCCAMEY - Coy Coe, 86, of McCamey, Texas, went to be with The Lord on Friday, June 24, 2016 at 2:57p.m.

Coy was born in White Rose, Oklahoma on December 17, 1929. He graduated from Okemah High school in 1948. That same year he joined the United States Air Force. He fought in the Korean War and served our country for eight years. In 1956 he met his sweet heart on a blind date. Coy and Joan wed on August 25, 1956. Coy was employed by Coca Cola from 1956-1992.

Coy leaves behind his wife of 60 years Joan Coe; two sons, Rick Coe and wife Sandy of Odessa, TX, Alan Coe and wife Kim of Amarillo, TX; two grandchildren Seth Coe and wife Lindsay of Amarillo, TX, Sara Bass and husband Christian of Amarillo, TX; three great-grandchildren, Jayton Seth Coe, Lilyanne Grace Coe, and Jedidiah Coe Bass all of Amarillo. He has two remaining sisters, Betty Keithly of Sacramento, CA, and Alline Bentley of Cape Girardeau, MO. Coy was preceded in death by his foster parents Gill and Beatrice Dill.

Memorial Services will be held on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in McCamey, TX.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials be sent to Cal Farley's Boys Ranch: 600 SW 11th Avenue, Amarillo, TX 79101.

Arrangements are under the care and direction of Shaffer-Nichols Funeral Home.

Joan, Ricky, and Alan we were so sorry to hear about Coy's passing. We just learned that he was in the hospital while at the Wagnon reunion. Coy always had a smile for everyone and improved your day just by being with you. We will miss him dearly just as all of you will.
