Herman Butler Obituary
He is preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gaylord Butler, sister, Pauline Light.
He is survived by his wife, Margie Butler of Odessa, daughters, Gwen Todaro and partner Norm Smart of Winters, TX, Benita Jones & husband Larry of Odessa; grandchildren, Shay Todaro & wife Karen of Albuquerque, NM, Kendra Golden;& husband Jonathan of Odessa; great-grandchildren, McKenzie & Dylan & Cooper.
Visitation with family will be 6 – 8 pm Friday, February 19, 2016 at Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, February 20, 2016 at the Bosley Cemetery, Weatherford, TX with Rev. Clydel Chapman officiating.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Northside Baptist Church Building Fund, 100 W. 50th St. Odessa, TX 79764.
Services entrusted to Hubbard-Kelly Funeral Home.

Another wonderful man from the Greatest Generation is gone. My dad was not just his cousin but one of his best friends. The stories they would tell about growing up together were hilarious and always interesting. Rest in eternal peace, Herman.♡

We never saw the Butlers outside of our church family, but we loved them and their presence and example to us all. You don't find good people like these two are very often. We are thankful our Lord caused our paths to cross.

Aunt Margie, Benita and Gwen, I remember going to your house for family get togethers especially with Aunt Effie and Uncle Wayne or the Banks. I will always remember Uncle Herman as a strong man who loved children and family. He had a sweet little smile that he often shared.

To Aunt Margie, Gwen & Benita,
We remember Uncle Herman like it was just yesterday. He & his sweetheart Aunt Margie were always such a handsome couple. I remember family times at Uncle Wayne & Aunt Effie Wheeler home. Them, shuffling dominoes. Women bringing dishes. Kids making homemade ice cream. Any time there was a family function, they were there. Weddings, birthdays - my daughters 1st, my gr mother Kate Wheelers 75th, my dads 75th & 80th, Anniversaries - my parents (Bill & Vicki) 25th & Funerals - my mothers, Kate's. I knew when they missed dads that they must be in ill health. We loved them and think of them often. Tell beautiful Aunt Margie we would love to see her. We know she has lost her words but we still have many
