Jo Frances Boring

1948 - 2021

ODESSA - Jo Frances Boring, 73, left this earth and went to her heavenly home on September 4, 2021. She passed away peacefully at her home in Odessa, Texas, surrounded by her loved ones.

Visitation will be Thursday, September 9, 2021, from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm at Faith Fellowship Church, 1603 N. Grandview Avenue, Odessa, Texas.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM, Thursday, September 9, 2021, at Faith Fellowship Church with Pastor Becky Hand officiating.

Jo was born in Midland, Texas, on February 20, 1948, to Joe Hubert and Francis La Juana McClure Deavenport. Jo grew up in Hereford, Texas, where she graduated

from high school in 1966. As a young lady, she was an active counselor at Brush Ranch in New Mexico. She played in the high school marching band, was active in Rainbow, and enjoyed riding horses.

Jo moved to Odessa, Texas, in 1983 where she began a 35 year career as a dental hygienist. The family jokes saying "there's no telling how many mouths her hands have been in", but "with gloves on!"

August 31, 1991, she married the love of her life, Wayne Boring. Between the two of them, they shared a total of eight children. Together they lived by the prayer of Saint Francis of Assisi. Jo mentored so many people during her lifetime. She had a servant's heart and gave with her all. She was always willing to lend an ear when someone needed to talk or if they needed any type of help. She had a very simple motto, "do the next right thing", and she always did. She was a true class act and role model. Jo was an active church member and loved volunteering there as well. She previously played church bells and also enjoyed singing in the choir. At one time, she and her husband even taught the Dave Ramsey financial course.

Jo loved all of her family and friends dearly and loved to spend time with them. She always greeted everyone with a big smile. She enjoyed shopping and eating good food, especially cookies! She was often referred to as the "Cookie Monster." She loved to cut up and her laughter was contagious. She especially had a knack for getting things done or organized and loved to help others do so.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents and her husband. She leaves behind to cherish her memories, daughter Carmen Witt and husband Chuck; son, Zeb Foster; daughter, Amber Bridges and husband Seth; son, Jesse Boring; stepdaughters, Torey Clark and Karma Diaz; stepsons, Deric Boring and wife Rilla, and David Boring. Also left to cherish Jo's memories are brother Jeff Deavenport and wife Stacey; as well as cousins, nieces and nephews. Jo was also blessed with grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Memorials may be given to the West Texas Food Bank. The family wishes to extend their sincere thanks to the doctors, nurses and staff at Texas Oncology, Home Hospice, and the care providers with Home Instead.
