Johnnie Loyd Obituary

ROBERT LEE Johnnie "Bud" Loyd, age 83, passed away Thursday, December 5, 2013, in the Robert Lee Care Center, Robert Lee, Texas.

A graveside service for the burial of cremains will take place at 2:00 PM Friday, December 13th, at Ross Cemetery, Spencer-Price Addition, in Baird, Texas, with Chaplain J. T. Tucker officiating. Services are under the direction of Parker Funeral Home in Baird.

The family will gather for lunch at 12:00 noon at the First Presbyterian Church of Baird.

Bud was born on August 24, 1930, in Elk City, Oklahoma, to Johnnie and Ola Cravens Loyd. He was the youngest of seven siblings. He was married to Pat Melton Loyd for 38 years and they had two children, Andy and Jana. Bud owned Bluebonnet Mirror and Glass for 35 years in Odessa, Texas, and then retired to Robert Lee, Texas. He then remarried in 1998 to Connie King for 10 years.

Survivors include 1 sister, Martha Long Roach of Lubbock, TX; his son, Andy Loyd of Odessa, TX; his daughter, Jana Dickey and husband Jim of McKinney, TX; 6 grandchildren, Kelly Loyd of McKinney, TX, Matt Loyd of Irving, TX, Clinton Calmes and wife Megan of Grapevine, TX, Laura Brandenburg and husband Howell from Plainview, TX, Jim Dickey and wife Amy of Phoenix, AZ, and Amanda Moutos and husband Nick of Phoenix, AZ.

He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 of his siblings, his two wives, and his dogs, Bonnie and Muggs.

Bud loved family gatherings and was a man of many friends. He loved his grandchildren and participated in all of their school activities. He also loved his dogs, Bonnie and Muggs! "Turn Out the Lights! The Party's Over," for Mr. Loyd has gone to see his Heavenly Father.
